Midas Recruitment is delighted to be supporting this leading retail business, headquartered in Birmingham, that due to an internal promotion, now seeks to hire a new Purchase Ledger Supervisor to lead a team of 5 in a busy accounts office. What’s in it for you? * Work hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm * Salary: Up to £37,000 * In office, moving to 1 day work from home after completing probation * 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, rising with service * Free parking and also close to public transport links * Discretionary bonus * The opportunity to develop your career in a well-known, fast-paced, friendly company Purchase Ledger Supervisor Responsibilities: * Managing a team of 5 Accounts Payable staff * Ensuring that all invoices are processed correctly and on time * Periodic reconciliations and keeping all the supplier accounts up-to-date * Processing the weekly Bacs and internet banking payment runs for suppliers * Build and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers * Ensure the Accounts Payable team are replying to all queries in a timely manner and all queries are dealt with correctly and efficiently * Staff training and constructive advice on day-to-day role requirements and processes * Implement and improve processes, ensuring adequate controls are in place at all times * Monitor team performance and ensure cover for colleagues during absences Purchase Ledger Supervisor Skills and Experience: * Several years of experience in purchase ledger within a high-volume purchasing environment * Proven experience in leading, mentoring a team to deliver excellent control of a purchase ledger function * Keen attention to detail with excellent time management and organisational skills * Good Microsoft Excel skills * Knowledge of BACS (or similar payment systems) * Self-starter with an aptitude to take on new challenges, with a 'can-do' attitude * Happy to be primarily office-based
