We are partnering with a well‑established and growing UK manufacturer to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This is a high‑impact role offering the opportunity to lead procurement across multiple product streams while playing a key role in the evolution of systems and processes.
You will lead a small, capable team and take ownership of procurement strategy and day‑to‑day purchasing operations across three distinct manufacturing streams.
The Role
* Lead and develop a small purchasing team within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
* Own end‑to‑end procurement across multiple product categories and supply chains
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned to business growth
* Manage supplier relationships across UK and international markets
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long‑term agreements
* Work closely with production and operations to support planning and delivery
* Play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system
* Improve current processes (currently Excel‑led) to drive efficiency, visibility, and control
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimisation, and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a Purchasing / Procurement Manager role within manufacturing
* Experience working in environments transitioning from manual/Excel processes to ERP/MRP systems (highly desirable)
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring a team
* Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
* Experience with international sourcing is advantageous
