Aquatic Ecologist – Glasgow
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

Why This Role
You’ll support the delivery of freshwater, estuarine, and coastal projects - combining fieldwork, technical reporting, and project coordination. Expect variety, autonomy, and the chance to grow within a collaborative, purpose-driven team.
What You’ll Do
* Carry out aquatic field surveys: macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, fish (electrofishing, netting, translocations)
* Conduct water quality, hydrology, and habitat assessments
* Prepare technical reports and impact assessments (WFD, HRA, EcIA)
* Support project delivery: budgets, timelines, and client liaison
* Contribute to restoration, R&D, and wider research initiatives
* Mentor junior ecologists and technicians
What You’ll Bring
* 3+ years’ experience in aquatic ecology (UK/Scotland preferred)
* Strong fieldwork skills across freshwater and fisheries
* Experience with EIA and technical report writing
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* CIEEM membership or eligibility preferred
* Passion for biodiversity and sustainable design
