Job Title: Cloud Migration Project Manager
Job Description
This role leads a governance‑heavy, cloud-based migration initiative, combining hands-on technical delivery with structured project management. You will set up and manage cloud tenants, drive proof-of-concept work ahead of a large-scale rollout, and ensure robust governance, cyber security checks, and regulatory compliance across all migration activities.
Responsibilities
1. Lead end-to-end project management for cloud migration initiatives, from planning and design through to delivery and handover.
2. Set up and configure cloud-based tenants, ensuring they align with governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
3. Plan and manage migrations of technologies and data from on-premises environments to the cloud and between cloud platforms.
4. Oversee and validate backup and restore capabilities to ensure data integrity, resilience, and recoverability throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Drive a governance-heavy approach, embedding cyber security checks, regulatory compliance, and best practice standards into all project activities.
6. Own and deliver a proof of concept phase, capturing lessons learned and preparing for a larger-scale rollout in future years.
7. Act as a hands-on project manager who proactively drives tasks forward, removes blockers, and ensures tangible progress.
8. Coordinate and collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors to align project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
9. Apply Agile ways of working where appropriate, including iterative planning, regular reviews, and continuous improvement.
10. Provide clear, concise reporting and updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
11. Manage project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation plans and ensuring effective decision-making.
12. Ensure that infrastructure, storage, and cloud architecture decisions support long-term scalability, performance, and compliance.
Essential Skills
13. Proven experience in project management delivering infrastructure and cloud-focused projects.
14. Demonstrable background in on-premises to cloud migration, including planning and execution of technology and data moves.
15. Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly in tenant setup and configuration.
16. Solid understanding of storage solutions in cloud and hybrid environments.
17. experience working within governance-heavy environments, including cyber security checks and regulatory compliance.
18. Track record of managing backup and restore processes within cloud or hybrid infrastructure projects.
19. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships across technical and non-technical groups.
20. Ability to act as a proactive, delivery-focused project manager who drives tasks forward and gets things done.
21. experience applying Agile methodologies or working within Agile environments.
22. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
