Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Senior Project Engineer, based from either Sheffield or Leeds, to work on a project with sites in Wakefield and Barnsley. The project is a refurbishment of a live data centre, starting in the summer and expected to run for around 18 months, with potential for further work. There may be occasional travel to Scotland.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of the project in your area of responsibility, ensuring activities are engineered to specification, delivered safely, profitably and to customer satisfaction.
* Ensure that safety is the priority on all activities on the project.
* Participate in pre-commencement activities to maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability.
* Review the project scope of works to ensure precise provision of the customer’s requirements.
* Identify project risks and opportunities and mitigate or enhance them as appropriate.
* Procure and deliver engineering solutions to meet financial and commercial objectives.
* Provide accurate and timely information on site progress to the Project Manager and Commercial Lead.
* Manage any sub-contract resources if applicable.
* Provide leadership to project team members within your area of control, maximise performance and ensure objectives are met.
* Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
* Ensure project close-out is completed in accordance with customer requirements, maximising project profitability.
What we’re looking for
* Industry-recognised electrical qualification (trade or professional).
* Demonstrable experience with electrical installations in a construction environment and in a similar role.
* Specific experience on high-value building services projects (eg £10m).
