Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our assisted living and nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, with specific expertise in dementia and Alzheimer's care. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management team, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained for our residents while fostering a compassionate and supportive atmosphere.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Supervise and lead a team of care staff, providing guidance and support to promote effective teamwork.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, focusing on their unique needs and preferences.
* Conduct regular assessments of residents' health and wellbeing, ensuring appropriate medication administration and adherence to care plans.
* Provide training and mentorship to staff on best practices in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's support.
* Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, staff performance, and operational procedures.
* Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders to enhance community engagement.
* Participate in recruitment processes, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a care home setting is essential.
* Relevant healthcare qualifications is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
* Demonstrated management experience with the ability to supervise and lead teams effectively.
* Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to resident care.
* Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining compliance standards.
