The role is full-time (Monday to Thursday), reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, and involves software engineering and machine-learning tasks.
What we're looking for:
We seek an enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer with AWS cloud experience to contribute to our product, The Uncertainty Engine. The candidate should have Python experience and an interest in machine learning, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions
* Participating in architecture, testing, and deployment
* Utilizing AWS, Python, MongoDB, and other technologies
* Applying security best practices
* Fostering collaboration and learning within the team
* Implementing design patterns and architectural principles
* Ensuring efficient CI/CD pipelines
* Enhancing system reliability and performance
* Contributing to team processes and collaborating with product management
* Providing technical support and incident management
* Adhering to RESTful API principles
Required skills:
* Experience in scientific software development and DevOps/MLOps
* Degree in computer science or related field
* Proficiency in Python, Linux, bash, Git, Docker
* Knowledge of machine learning libraries (Numpy, Scipy, Pandas)
* Understanding of software design principles and testing
* Experience working in agile teams, preferably using Scrum
Nice-to-haves:
* Masters in STEM
* Front-end skills (HTML, CSS, React)
* Experience with PyTorch or deep learning libraries
* Knowledge of Bayesian statistics
Location: On-site at digiLab's offices in Exeter.
