We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to join a well-established and growing business unit within a leading UK construction and property services organisation.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for the commercial management of a major responsive maintenance, voids and special projects contract, with an annual value of circa £20m, supported by a team of three commercial professionals.
You will play a pivotal role across work winning, governance, operational delivery and client engagement, ensuring strong financial performance while developing high-performing teams and long-term customer relationships.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will take full ownership of commercial strategy and performance across your portfolio, operating at both pre- and post-contract stages.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing senior commercial leadership across live contracts and future opportunities
* Driving robust financial performance including profit, cash flow, risk and compliance
* Producing accurate, timely commercial reporting for senior stakeholders and clients
* Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing commercial team
* Playing an active role in strategic decision-making and operational delivery
* Building trusted, long-term relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
* Supporting repeat business and identifying future growth opportunities
* Championing sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives
About You
* Proven experience operating as a Commercial Manager on contracts of £15m–£20m+
* Strong background in social housing, FM, responsive maintenance or planned works
* Advanced knowledge of contract conditions, subcontracts and commercial governance
* Excellent financial acumen with experience managing risk, compliance and reporting
* Confident, client-facing communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
* Proven people manager with a track record of developing and retaining talent
* London-based (or commutable) and comfortable with hybrid working and site/client visits
