Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced QHSE advisor to work as part of a small team across Heathrow immigration removal centres. This is a unique environment and will allow you to further develop your existing skills and experience, ensuring the safety and well-being of up to colleagues and residents across two sites near Heathrow airport.
Main Duties
1. Promote the company QHSE strategy across the business, promoting and embedding the ethos of Live Safe, and ensuring contractual, company, legislative and best practice requirements are met and maintained
2. Provide consistent competent advice and guidance to all Heathrow IRC colleagues and all other internal stakeholders with regards to QHSE policy, legislative requirements.
3. Attend meetings, forums, as a representative of the QHSE Function
4. Deputise for the QHSE Manager when required
5. Work in accordance of the QHSE Yearplanner
6. Work in accordance and directed from the QHSE Strategic Plan
7. Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective operation of the contract.
8. Complete periodic tours, inspections, audits and assessments, for Fire, Fabric, MiSHE, workplace, DSE, Food safety and any other QHSE Agendas
9. Ensure that all accidents, near misses and hazard observations other safety events are reported, investigated, evidence obtained and findings shared where lessons can be learn
What we are looking for
10. Experience and working knowledge of QHSE
11. NEBOSH General Certificate
12. Food Safety Certificate
13. IEMA Foundation Certificate
14. Proficient and competent in Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel etc.
15. Must have the ability to be flexable
16. Ability to build strong working relationships with Internal and external stakeholders
17. Demonstrate a high level of Integrity and ability to challenge legislative shortcomings with stakeholders
18. Be self motivated
19. Support others within the QHSE team.
Essential Criteria
20. Be a UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
21. Have a valid and in date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. Please note Visa's in out of date passports cannot be accepted as proof of Right to Work in the UK. A Biometric card alongside a current in- date passport must be provided.
22. Have continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years. Applicants must not have spent more than 3 months at any one time overseas during the previous 5 years.
23. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and Applicants must be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, complete employer referencing for the previous 5 years and vetting to the level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC) if offered a role.
24. No driving ban/ disqualification within the previous 12 months
25. Not currently bankrupt.
