As a Visitor Assistant at Lotherton Hall you willcontribute towards delivering an excellent customer service to all of our users. As the first contact that customers engage with you will be confident and engaging and enjoy first line interaction with the public. The role will involve cash handling, reconciliation and information sharing as well as maintenance of our facilities including cleaning toilets, ensuring displays are up to date, car parking and general housekeeping duties. You will be a good team player but also adept at working on your own and be able to prioritise your own workload.

As a Visitor assistant, you will bring to the role:
* Strong organisational and customer service skills, with the ability to plan and to prioritise own work and competing priorities.
* Knowledge of cash handling and reconciliation.
* Proficient tin the use of IT including Microsoft packages.
* Pride about your work and an ability to upsell all the facility has to offer.
About the role
This role will be a member of Lotherton’s core estate team working with estate colleagues as well as those in the retail department. As a front-line member of staff, you will be responsible for cash handling and reconciliation and for keeping an organised count of all visitors, contractors and maintain a security presence to site.
You will need to demonstrate a fine attention to detail, have proficient IT skills, and be willing to undertake domestic tasks such as cleaning of toilets, litter picking. You will also thrive and work well under pressure.

Job purpose
To contribute to the provision of a visitor assistance service and to be responsible: for the provision of security and cleaning services to the Estates including buildings and car parks, including visitor enquiries and the issuing of tickets.
Responsibilities
* To patrol all areas of the Estates to ensure security to buildings, stock, gardens, golf courses, car parks and vehicles.
* To provide protection for the Estates and their visitors from vandalism, theft and misuse.
* To greet visitors, including pre-booked parties, collect fees and issue tickets for car parking.
* To account for fees collected and to maintain records in accordance with Leeds City Council Financial Regulations.
* To assist visitors with their enquiries and provide information regarding the Estates as required.
* To collect and dispose of litter from patrolled areas.
* To keep a daily log of incidents and to produce such reports as may be required.
* To maintain regular radio contact with Estates officers.
* To clean and maintain working premises to an acceptable standard, including toilets, and visitor service areas.
* To undertake the locking and unlocking of premises.
* Other duties, commensurate with the grade, as required by the Estate Management.
It is essential that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate that they meet all the essential requirements.
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of people individually, in groups and at all appropriate levels.
* Ability to participate in cash handling procedures and to maintain accurate records.
* Ability to keep accurate logs of daily incidents.
* Ability to produce reports as required.
* Ability to promote the Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall estates to visitors.
* Ability to be flexible in working practices, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota system.
* Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
* Experience in security or patrol work.
* Experience in the cleaning of buildings to an acceptable standard.
