We are recruiting for a Bank Chef based at Glenabbey Manor Care Home.
About the role:
We are currently recruiting for a Bank Chef to join our Hospitality team. Working as a Bank Chef at Kathryn Homes, you will have the opportunity to deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals without split shifts and long hours. We seek a warm, motivated, and passionate individual who is driven by quality and high standards, to provide person-centred hospitality to our residents. You will support the wider catering team, working on a bank basis to cover sickness and annual leave, as well as assisting at planned events within the home.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all stages of food preparation meet the highest standards, supporting the well-being of residents.
2. Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes.
3. Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations (England and Northern Ireland).
4. Maintain portion control procedures to minimize waste.
5. Follow strict dietary requirements for residents.
6. Help create and develop new menu items.
7. Oversee kitchen cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
8. Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
9. Ensure correct storage of all food and items.
10. Maintain effective stock rotation and place orders as needed.
About you:
1. Previous experience in a catering environment in a similar role.
2. Understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements.
3. Ability to meet dietary needs through appropriate methods.
4. Food Hygiene Level 2; NVQ Level 2 preferred.
5. A passion for food and delivering an exceptional culinary experience.
6. Ability to lead and motivate a team.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
