Applications are open for this innovative 12 month post within trauma and orthopaedics at University Hospital Crosshouse. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a welcoming, forward thinking department. Opportunities will be provided to enhance portfolios of successful candidates thereby providing a competitive trainee in future recruitment options.
This position would also be suitable for candidates who have completed core surgical training and wish to further develop their CV prior to applying for higher specialty training.
Doctors within this role will be expected to participate in elective work such as outpatient clinics, operating lists, and diagnostic sessions and departmental emergency care. If appointed you will provide out of hours oncall commitments to the middle tier trauma and orthopaedics rota.
The successful applicants will have a dedicated clinical supervisor and will be encouraged to use ISCP portfolio to document their surgical logbook and portfolios. The appointed candidates will be expected to participate in audit, education and quality improvement projects within the department.
The appointment will be whole time for the duration of 12 months. A 50% pay supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and emergency duty commitments, and will be based on a salary range of £45,504 - £71,550. The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
