Linux Systems Administrator - Nottingham (Hybrid)
£40, - £45, On-Call Allowance (£2,-£3,)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
On-Call: 1 week in every 3
We're hiring a Linux Systems Administrator to act as the final point of technical escalation for a well-established support function in Nottingham. This hybrid role offers a mix of hands-on system administration, project delivery, and strategic problem-solving across a modern tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer and maintain Linux systems across a hybrid infrastructure
2. Act as the final line of support escalation for complex infrastructure and server issues
3. Lead patching, monitoring, and system upgrades across virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
4. Support core Windows Server environments as needed
5. Deliver and automate infrastructure using AWS, Azure, Terraform, Bash, and Python
6. Manage IAM platforms (Okta, Azure AD) and support security/compliance across the estate
7. Troubleshoot and manage network infrastructure - Cisco switches, VLANs, firewalls
8. Support backup (Rubrik), DR (Zerto), and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Zabbix, Grafana)
What We're Looking For:
9. Strong hands-on experience with Linux in enterprise environments
10. Solid background in escalated infrastructure support (3rd/4th line)
11. Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Terraform)
12. Exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure) and identity platforms (Okta, Azure AD)
13. Understanding of virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and core networking concepts
14. Calm under pressure and confident managing high-priority incidents independently
