Role Purpose:
As People Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day People-related queries, providing support to colleagues and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From onboarding new starters to updating records in IRIS HR, you'll play a key role in delivering a great colleagues experience. You’ll work closely with the wider People Team to support across the colleague lifecycle and help us improve our ways of working. This could be a great opportunity for someone starting their career in People/HR.
Key Responsibilities:
General People Administration & support
* Respond to routine People-related queries from colleagues and managers, escalating when needed.
* Maintain accurate colleague records in IRIS HR, including starters, leavers, and personal details.
* Assist with payroll administration.
* Prepare and issue documentation such as offer letters, contracts, change letters, references, and leaver confirmations.
* Update People Team trackers, shared inboxes, and filing systems in line with GDPR.
* Manage family leave processes.
* Support benefits and reward administration.
Onboarding and Offboarding
* Coordinate pre-employment checks and onboarding, ensuring a smooth experience for new starters.
* Schedule induction sessions and liaise with relevant departments for system access.
* Administer offboarding, including exit interviews and access removal.
Recruitment Support
* Post job adverts internally and externally.
* Coordinate interview schedules, candidate communications, and feedback.
* Conduct screening calls with candidates.
* Support hiring managers with recruitment admin and documentation.
Learning and Development
* Assist with scheduling and coordinating training sessions.
* Maintain records of learning activities.
* Update Learning Management System records.
Systems and Reporting
* Ensure IRIS HR is kept up to date.
* Generate reports on headcount, absence, and compliance data.
* Support data audits and system usage optimization.
Project and Process Support
* Contribute to People Team initiatives and improvement projects.
* Assist with reviewing policies, templates, and procedures.
