Job Opportunity: Freelance Java Developer (Outside IR35)
£450–£550/day | Remote (UK-Based) | Occasional travel to Hammersmith or Farnborough
We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Java Developer to join a long-term programme focused on building scalable, cloud-native platforms within the Financial Services Payments sector. This is a fully remote role for UK-based candidates, with occasional on-site collaboration in Farnborough or Hammersmith.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, thinks like an engineer, and enjoys working in a collaborative, delivery-focused team.
What You'll Bring
* Strong Java development experience (Spring Boot, Microservices)
* Proficiency with AWS services (Java Spark, EMR, Lambda, native AWS databases)
* Experience with Kubernetes and EKS
* Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
* A proactive mindset with a focus on end-to-end delivery
Nice to Have
* Background in the Payments or FinTech industry
* Experience with AWS Glue or large-scale data processing tools
* Knowledge of event-driven architecture
