Overview
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Consultant Physicians in Respiratory Medicine. Applications are welcomed from candidates interested in a part-time or full-time role. Posts are trust-wide with outpatient clinics across trust sites and rotation to provide consultant cover to the two acute respiratory wards at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH). The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop sub-specialist interests to complement the department. Sub-speciality clinics are currently provided within the Respiratory Department, including cough, lung cancer, pleural disease, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, asthma and sleep medicine.
Responsibilities
* Provide consultant cover for outpatient clinics across trust sites and for the two acute respiratory wards at NSECH as required.
* Support current services or develop new sub-specialty interests and service pathways within the Respiratory Department.
* Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives as part of a collaborative team.
* Participate in the rota system and flexible timetabling to meet service demands (typical week may include 10 Programmed Activities, including 1.5 for Supported Professional Activities; additional SPAs available as needed).
