Who we Are
As part of the integrated IMRDS for Capital Delivery, reporting to the mains renewal senior engineer, you will oversee the design and engineering of capital mains renewal schemes within the Capital Delivery planned work programme. The focus will be on trenchless and no-dig techniques, including insitu structural liners, promoting innovative solutions to maximize benefits and efficiencies across the AWS region, safely, within budget, and on time. Your designs will contribute to cost savings, benefit efficiencies, and support the achievement of AMP8 main Laying & efficiency targets, adding value to the supply and network asset base.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage in the DM governance processes for design schemes, ensuring collaboration and appropriate involvement before approval.
* Lead risk and value root cause analysis for solution design requests to thoroughly assess business needs.
* Visit sites as needed for surveys, verifying solutions, identifying equipment needs, and conducting site meetings with stakeholders or supporting delivery team checks.
* Handle customer liaison and problem-solving in the field, ensuring communication aligns with delivery processes.
* Maximize benefits within planned works by considering wider TOTEX opportunities.
* Manage project budgets to meet targets.
* Hold SMSTS qualification and NRSWA supervisor training (training available if needed).
* Experience in contract management and site supervision.
* Significant experience in water engineering or similar infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of water distribution systems.
* Ability to influence company strategy and understand the regulatory framework.
* Experience with water supply and network operations.
* Strategic, tactical, and operational understanding of infrastructure.
* Proven mains renewal design and engineering skills.
* Ability to balance solution requirements with service delivery capabilities.
* Good understanding of the ROV process and root cause analysis.
