Offer description

Looking for a rewarding veterinary role in a stunning location?

We're seeking a Small Animal Vet to join our mixed practice on the beautiful Isle of Wight.

For over 60 years, we've been at the heart of animal care on the Isle of Wight - constantly growing and innovating to deliver the very best for our patients.

Today we're proud to have 3 well-equipped, RCVS accredited branches, including our main Newport branch with in-house laboratory, surgical, diagnostic and hospitalisation facilities. We also provide our own in-house 24/7/emergency and out of hours service.

We have a very varied caseload including exotics, farm and small and with the help of our fantastic nurses we work cases up to an exceptional standard.

If you're looking for a role that challenges and inspires, this is the place to be.

The Role & Rota:

* Full-time - 4-day working week (part-time considered)
* 8.30am – 6pm working day
* Mix of consulting, hospital days, and occasional branch work
* Out-of-hours (OOH) rota: 1 in 12, thanks to collaboration with two local practices
* Always supported by an on-call nurse and a mixed vet

Generous salary – dependent on experience

**Accommodation can be included

We are preferably looking for a vet with at least 1-2 years of clinical experience and happy with routine consultations, routine surgeries and OOH emergency work.

However, we will consider a New Graduate Vet, and if the right candidate comes along you would have the opportunity of joining our fantastic Graduate Development Programme. As part of the VetPartners group, this programme means you will be able to embrace a blended learning approach of training days, in-house mentoring, CPD, and clinical practice, creating a varied platform for you to grow and develop as a Veterinary Surgeon. You will be offered both supportive 1-to-1 and group mentoring sessions, for engagement and interaction, as you develop an invaluable skillset. From surgical/medical experience, to enjoying teamwork, providing refined customer service, and gaining business knowledge to support the security of great patient care.

Our Team:

You will be joining a young, vibrant, and supportive team with a wide range of interests and experience.

Our team currently consists of 14 vets, including certificate holders, plus 16 nurses, 2 animal care assistants and a supportive management/admin team.

We gather for a 'huddle' every morning to discuss the day and any cases and there are regular team meetings.

Amazing location

Enjoy a wonderful island lifestyle— the Isle of Wight boasts a rich history, stunning coastal scenery and world-class events.

Just a short ferry ride from the mainland (Southampton, Portsmouth, or Lymington), the island offers easy access to Southampton Airport and fast train links to London. Enjoy the best of both worlds – a relaxed island lifestyle with excellent connectivity. Plus, we cover four return car ferry crossings per year for our vets

As part of the VetPartners family we offer a fantastic range of benefits including:

* Health Shield - wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments - from dentistry to sports massage
* 7.6 weeks paid holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)
* £1750 CPD Allowance per annum or part of VetPartners Graduate Development Programme
* RCVS Membership paid
