The Year 1 Teacher will join planning meetings before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026. A week in the life - Year 1 Teacher Mornings: the Year 1 Teacher leads lively phonics and guided reading sessions as the Year 1 Teacher, embedding routines that build stamina and vocabulary. Midday: the Year 1 Teacher uses focused assessment to identify next steps as the Year 1 Teacher. Afternoons: the Year 1 Teacher delivers practical mathematics and creative topic work as the Year 1 Teacher. Outside contact time the Year 1 Teacher prepares displays, liaises with families and completes moderation tasks - with planning starting ahead of January 2026 and continuing through January 2026. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities The Year 1 Teacher will plan and teach systematic phonics sequences as the Year 1 Teacher; design sequenced writing units and practical maths as the Year 1 Teacher; run interventions and track progress as the Year 1 Teacher; and communicate with families as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will contribute to transition work and moderation after January 2026. Year 1 Teacher Requirements We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teacher with QTS/PGCE (or equivalent), strong KS1 expertise and excellent interpersonal skills. The Year 1 Teacher must be available for planning sessions before January 2026, for induction in January 2026, and to commence teaching from January 2026.
