Practice Manager, Part-Time The Opportunity Louise Crossman Architects (LCA) is a design-led, ambitious architectural practice, creating uniquely tailored architecture for private residential and cultural clients. The practice works exclusively in the Southwest of England, realising clients' architectural ambitions inspired by the distinctive landscapes, coastlines, and hinterlands of Devon and Somerset. LCA is looking for a Practice Manager to oversee operations, finance, HR, and administration, enabling our talented architects and designers to focus on their creative work. You'll play a key role in shaping an organised, inspiring, and supportive environment where the team can thrive and the practice can continue to grow with purpose, creativity, and ambition. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Office Management Keep the studio running smoothly day to day, ensuring everything is well-organised and efficient. Manage office facilities, supplies, insurances, and IT support. Work closely with the Directors on business planning, resourcing, and overall practice strategy. Liaise with external partners such as accountants, IT providers, and marketing consultants. Finance & Administration Handle invoicing, payments, and general bookkeeping alongside our external accountants. Support budgeting, cashflow, and financial reporting to help the practice run efficiently. Maintain strong systems and processes to ensure compliance and smooth operations. HR & People Support Manage recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff training and development. Support the team with contracts, appraisals, leave, and wellbeing initiatives. Help build a positive, collaborative studio culture that reflects our shared values. Marketing & Business Development Support website, portfolio, and social media updates to showcase our work. Assist with client communications, feedback, and wider business development activities. The Candidate: We're looking for someone who brings both structure and energy to work, a natural organiser with strong people and communication skills. You'll be confident juggling multiple responsibilities and enjoy being a trusted support to both the leadership team and wider studio. Experience in practice, office or studio management. Detail orientated with strong organisational and time management skills. An understanding of financial processes, HR, and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems (Mac/iOS experience a plus). A proactive, calm, and solutions-focused approach.
