Job Overview
The Women and Children’s Division at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals seeks a Paediatric Diabetes Administrator/Data Input Clerk to support the Paediatric Diabetes Team and ensure accurate administrative processes within the service.
Responsibilities
* You will be a member of the Paediatric Diabetes Team providing administrative support to all members of the team.
* You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, be flexible, exercise initiative, and maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
* You will support other administrative roles within the diabetes team.
* Maintain an accurate database for the Paediatric Diabetes Service within the Women and Children’s Division using the Twinkle database.
* Prepare for NPDA data submission.
* Perform data entry and retrieval from databases/core clinical systems.
* Liaise with professionals in the Diabetes clinics to facilitate proper recording of clinical information.
* Produce accurate reports regarding the Diabetes service as required via the Twinkle database.
* Take messages and telephone calls from staff, patients, relatives and liaise with internal and external departments, providing enquiries, reports and correspondence, and arranging appointments where required.
* Liaise with Consultants, Specialist Nurses, General Practitioners and other Health Professionals to ensure seamless service provision to CYP utilizing LTHTR services.
* Take meeting minutes.
* Oversee clinic appointments and ensure patients are booked onto the correct clinics including MDT and Nurse‑Led clinics.
* Perform ad‑hoc duties such as sending holiday letters, newsletters and invitations to education sessions.
* Complete work accurately and timely, consistent with departmental practice or protocol.
* Work in a manner consistent with Trust and local policies, procedures and protocols.
Qualifications
* Effective communication skills and high attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
* Experience working in a hospital environment is beneficial but not essential.
