Our children's services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children's services and help make a real difference. **Social Media Support Volunteers** help us to keep the local community up to date with the services that we offer, as well as helping to share information from other local and national organisations. We are looking for people with good IT skills, excellent communication skills and a broad knowledge of social media platforms, to include Facebook and Twitter. We are the Greater Manchester Keyworker Team, and we support young people, aged 0-25, who have a diagnosis of autism and/or a learning disability and have experienced significant mental health crisis. We are currently developing our social media presence to be more inclusive and have clearer intentions. As a volunteer social media champion, you will be a valued member of our comms team. This opportunity will suit anyone looking to apply current learning or knowledge in this area, or channel a creative hobby into something new. Your contributions will have a meaningful impact as we signpost to vital information and services, and provide a reliable source of advice amongst much mis-information. We ask that you would create social media posts for the service about themes/subjects that are either pre-determined by our calendar, or arise ad hoc. You will also be included in planning conversations as we continually develop our social media practice. We ask that you have a specific interest in learning how to make content that is inclusive and accessible. For this opportunity you will need access to your own laptop, or the ability to travel to our Stalybridge office once a week during office hours to use our equipment. We ask for around 4-6 hours a month, which includes time for supervision and training. You will be invited to our comms team meetings and service development days, and will have other opportunities to get to know the wider team if you wish to. No prior experience of autism or learning disabilities is required as full training will be given. We do ask that you have a particular interest in learning more about autism, and you come to us with and open heart and mind.

Sharing posts from other organisations on social media platforms.
Assist in effectively monitoring social media platforms.
