Retail Security Officer (Part time, 3 days a week)
Location: Northampton
Hours: Friday 11:00-20:00, Sunday 10:00-16:00
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Breaks: Paid breaks
Job Overview
Minimum one year of security experience; retail experience preferred. Provide safety and security to our customers' property, people and/or assets in line with the published Assignment Instructions, delivering results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators. Deliver exceptional customer service to staff and visitors and undertake additional training for continuous self‑development, while upholding Mitie and client reputations.
Main Duties
* Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site
* Conduct regular patrols of the site
* Deliver customer service to staff and visitors
* Support staff with reasonable requests
* Ensure relevant reports are completed to accurately record information
Training
Fully complete all required competency training and additional training as directed. Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Look out for and immediately report health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site
* Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment to take appropriate action and reduce disruption, loss or damage; use common sense and initiative to prevent escalation
* Adopt proactive and reactive approaches when delivering customer service to diffuse situations
* Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers or situations
* Accurately document incidents on the provided system
* Activate emergency services and Control Room for serious incidents
What We Are Looking For
* Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence
* Excellent customer service skills
* Self‑starter, able to act without direction
* Report writing skills essential
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work well under pressure
