Operational Experience – Control room or operational experience preferred but not essential, as full training is provided.
Sharp Decision-Making Skills – Ability to work calmly under pressure and make key decisions.
Detail-Focused – Excellent data accuracy and monitoring abilities.
Flexible – Able to work a rotational 24/7 shift pattern if required in line with agreed notice periods.Technical Credentials - A HNC in a STEM subject, non STEM equivalent qualification’s however will be considered based on operational experience; Professional engineering qualification (CEng or IEng) is preferred with a willingness to work towards if not already achieved essential.
Take control – Monitor and manage the real-time operation of the gas distribution network, authorising site works and making key decisions. Stay alert – Respond to equipment and plant alarms, managing gas flows within commercial and physical limits. Keep it accurate – Maintain detailed records and data in line with ISO 9001 compliance. Work together – Represent the Control Room when dealing with internal and external agencies. Be prepared – Support emergency response plans and drive process improvements.
This is a shift working role, following a 24/7 rotational shift pattern. Two shift patterns apply:
24/7 shift rota working Morning/Afternoon and Night shifts attracting 26% shift allowance.
Alternating shift pattern working Morning/Afternoon shifts Monday – Friday attracts 13.5% shift allowance. (Potentially utilised during periods of training)
