We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Manager to join our team within Vistry Works East Midlands, at our Coalville Factory. As our Materials Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end material flow across the factory, ensuring materials are received, stored, controlled, moved and issued accurately and efficiently to support production of wall panels, roof trusses and floor cassettes.
The role owns inventory accuracy, system integrity, internal logistics and FLT operations, and plays a critical role in supporting production performance, investigating discrepancies and developing robust material control processes as the business scales.

Proven experience in materials management, stores, logistics or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting and system accuracy.
Experience managing internal FLT operations.
Hands-on experience with ERP / MRP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly around discrepancies and root cause.
You will be a natural leader and communicator, and have experience with managing multi-discipline teams

Goods In & Stores Operations
Own the goods-in process ensuring all materials are:
Received safely and efficiently
Checked against purchase orders
Booked accurately into the system
Ensure materials are stored correctly with clear location control and traceability.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all stores activities.Material Movement & Internal Logistics
Lead and optimise internal material flow from stores to production lines and between departments.
Manage all internal FLT operations, ensuring:
Safe operation
Adequate resource planning
Correct material delivery to point of useInventory Control & Accuracy
Own inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP and consumables.
Implement and maintain a robust cycle counting programme, including:
Count schedules
Variance analysis
Corrective actions
Ensure stock adjustments are controlled, authorised and fully understood.
Drive improvements to achieve and sustain high system accuracy (>98%).Systems & Data Integrity
Be accountable for material master data and inventory transactions within D365 ensuring.
Accurate stock locations
Correct BOM consumption
Timely and accurate system postings
Lead system development and improvement initiatives related to material control, scanning, barcoding or automation.Discrepancy Investigation & Root Cause
Lead investigations into:
Stock variances
Missing or damaged materials
Production material shortages
Work cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing and Finance to:
Identify root causes
Implement corrective and preventative actions
Provide clear reporting on discrepancies, trends and risks.Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead, coach and develop material flow teams, setting clear expectations and accountability.
Build a culture of accuracy, ownership and continuous improvement.
Use Lean / CI tools to improve flow, reduce waste and support factory performance.
