Learning Support Assistant (SEMH)

We are partnering with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Reading to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. This role involves supporting pupils across the primary age range, helping them succeed both emotionally and academically.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH), you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Help pupils manage emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies
Support classroom learning and keep pupils engaged
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning
Experience in roles such as Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Care Worker, or Support Worker would be highly advantageous.
