Graduate GIS Analyst – 2026 Development Programme – UK Wide

This role sits within our Infrastructure operating unit, supporting our projects in various locations across the UK. Our current projects include - the A428 upgrade between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts, Network Rail’s Northwest & Central framework and Anglian Water’s capital programme in Peterborough.
What you'll do:
1. Develop and maintain web GIS platforms and field GIS applications to meet team and project requirements.
2. Design and implement bespoke web and mobile GIS solutions using Esri, QGIS, FME, and related technologies.
3. Identify and develop geospatial workflows and automated processes to reduce manual data entry and increase data quality.
4. Support the integration of GIS with BIM systems and IoT feeds to contribute to and enhance the project’s Digital Twin.
5. Collaborate with engineers, GIS end users and cross-disciplinary teams to translate requirements into practical GIS solutions.
6. Actively engage with the Skanska Graduate Programme for professional development.
What you'll bring to the role:
7. Studying towards or completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in GIS, Geospatial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Geography or a related discipline.
8. Academic or practical experience with Esri ArcGIS suite, QGIS and spatial data processing.
9. Familiarity with FME or equivalent ETL/automation tooling.
10. Proactive, curious and motivated to continuously improve GIS datasets and workflows.
11. Effective written and verbal communicator; collaborative and able to work across disciplines.
12. This role requires visits to sites across the UK. As such, we would expect you to have a driving licence or work towards obtaining one within your first year of working with us.
