Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled operative for grounds maintenance work to carry out works across various areas across NI on government based contracts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This role requires a combination of physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for Grounds Maintenance. The Grounds Maintenance Worker will ensure that gardens, lawns, and other outdoor areas are well-kept and thriving.
Responsibilities Including but not limited to.
* Perform general groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
* Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and hedges through regular pruning and Knapsack weed Spraying.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
* upholding Health & safety rules and regulations
* Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention
* Collaborate with team members to execute landscape maintenance projects efficiently.
* operating a quad for road side weed spraying and knapsack spraying
Experience
* Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred including using commercial strimmer's, lawn mowers, hedge cutters, weed spraying etc
* Familiarity with using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
* Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs on equipment is advantageous.
* Previous experience in cutting hedges preferred but not essential
* A keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic are essential traits for success in this role.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
* PA1/PA6 weed spraying certification preferred but not essential
* Must have a valid driving license at least for a car. 7.5 ton or class 2 license preferred as driving one of our vans to site is required
* CSR card preferred but not essential
* For Quad spraying experience in driving quads would be preferable but not essential
* Preferably looking operatives on a self employed basis
