A nurturing and inclusive Early Years setting in Northolt is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children with additional needs during the crucial early stages of development.
About the Role
As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN within the EYFS
* Support early development in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
* Assist in delivering play-based, sensory, and structured learning activities
* Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored support strategies
* Support daily routines, transitions, and behaviour management
* Record observations and contribute to progress tracking in line with EYFS framework
Requirements
* Experience working with Early Years or EYFS pupils, ideally with SEN
* Knowledge of Autism, speech and language needs, or developmental delays
* A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to support personal care if required
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years
* Experience with phonics, early communication, or sensory play
* Understanding of EHCPs and early intervention strategies
