Here at City of Wolverhampton College our vision is to be a leading education provider, committed to excellence in all we do. Empowering learners of Wolverhampton and beyond with skills, knowledge and the positivity needed to thrive and succeed in current and future opportunities.
Formed in September 1999, we adopted our name after Wolverhampton gained city status in 2000. We provide further, higher, and adult education to approximately 8,000 students and apprentices, aiming to deliver extraordinary teaching and learning experiences through a responsive and innovative curriculum.
We operate from two main campuses and boast several specialized training centres, including the Electric Vehicle and Green Technologies Training Centre, the Polymer Training and Innovation Centre, and the Transport, Rail and Infrastructure Academy, with locations spanning Wolverhampton, Aston, Dudley, and Coventry.
Aligned with our strategic aim to provide first-class estates and resources, we are undergoing a significant campus transformation as part of the City of Wolverhampton Council's City Learning Quarter (CLQ) masterplan. Our £8.1 million Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre (ATAC) opened in September 2024, purpose-built for engineering and automotive studies. Additionally, we have a state-of-the-art £61 million city centre campus set to open in autumn 2025, which will lead to the closure of one of our existing campuses.
College life is exciting and positive. We deliver fantastic outcomes, currently ranked 3rd for achievement among all further education providers in England and rated ‘Good’ by OfSTED in January 2023.
Our purpose is to define futures, and we invite you to define your future with us as a member of our Senior Management Team (SMT). We have two openings for a Head of Curriculum Development.
The successful candidates will manage, develop, and implement a responsive and innovative curriculum that aligns with the College’s overall strategy, ensuring high levels of success and value for money. They will ensure the curriculum design delivers exceptional teaching and learning, enabling students to achieve and progress, meeting success measures. They will line manage Curriculum Managers aligned to certain sector areas.
