The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing high-quality analysis and insight to support the firm. This role involves interpreting financial data and delivering actionable recommendations. Working closely with colleagues across the Finance team and the wider business, the Finance Analyst contributes to reporting, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, as well as the development of management information and financial models. The role also supports the firm's compliance with financial regulations, including VAT reporting, and assists with partner-related financial matters.
Responsibilities
* To support partners and fee earners as well as the finance team by preparing month-end management reports, quarterly reporting, and ad hoc financial information and analysis as required. This will include taking control and successfully delivering projects throughout the year, as well as one-off reporting requests.
* The reporting aspect includes preparation of existing financial schedules, creating and updating financial models, preparing written financial reports for various areas of management, and creating and updating financial documents using the firm's reporting software.
* Analysis of all aspects of financial performance of S+W and its constituent elements- Divisions, Partner Groups, Locations, Partner Teams, Fee Earners, Clients and Sectors.
* Assist with the preparation of the Firm's payroll on a monthly basis.
* Support the delivery of statutory requirements, including financial reporting, tax reporting and compliance analysis (e.g. Corporate and partnership tax, VAT).
* Assist the team in maintaining the integrity of all relevant underlying financial data, ensuring both accuracy and completeness. This includes, but not limited to, data on rates, utilisation, realisation, budgets and headcount.
Experience
* Finance experience essential – some previous experience in a finance role is required.
* Attention to detail – able to produce accurate work and review information carefully.

* Strong communication skills – able to present financial information in a clear understandable way for non-finance colleagues
