Economic Inactivity Trailblazer Pembrokeshire
Are you a natural communicator who thrives on building relationships in the heart of the community? We are looking for 2 Pathways Advisers to be the front‑line face of Pembrokeshire’s Economic Inactivity Trailblazer.
Your mission is to find and engage the ‘hidden’ members of our community, individuals with disabilities, long‑term health conditions, or caring responsibilities who are not currently accessing support. You will meet people where they are, in libraries, community hubs, and local centres, to provide a bridge back to confidence and opportunity. You will be working mostly in areas of greatest disadvantage in Pembrokeshire.
Responsibilities
* Proactive outreach– actively identify and engage individuals who are economically inactive, with a particular focus on those experiencing social isolation in our communities, including areas of Pembrokeshire facing higher levels of disadvantage. Engagement activities will be both one‑to‑one and group activities.
* Trust building– provide entry support through informal counselling and listening to understand an individual’s unique barriers.
* Integrated care– collaborate closely with the Services Coordinator (Health and Wellbeing) to co‑develop in‑house provision and facilitate referrals into specialist programmes that support health management and build mental resilience.
* Community presence– partner with local authority departments, social services, and third‑sector groups to champion the Trailblazer project.
* Resilience building– support individuals to move from isolation toward greater motivation and readiness through the design and delivery of targeted group engagement activities, alongside timely and appropriate signposting to relevant support services.
Who you are
* A people person– you are empathetic, persistent, and able to engage with individuals from all backgrounds and circumstances, delivering both one‑to‑one and group support through a range of tailored engagement activities.
* A connector– you recognise that no one succeeds in isolation and bring a strong understanding of signposting opportunities across statutory and third sector services, while working collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Pembrokeshire focused– you have a deep knowledge of our county, including its areas facing greater disadvantage; and understand the specific challenges experienced within these communities, including around rural isolation.
* Mobile– a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential to reach our dispersed communities.
