Head of Physics
A large and well-regarded secondary school based in Ealing, West London is seeking to appoint a Head of Physics to start in September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent leadership position suitable for an experienced Physics Teacher looking to take the next step in their career or an established Head of Physics seeking a new challenge. Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, with additional responsibilities in line with a middle leadership role. Salary will be in line with Outer London MPS/UPS plus TLR (dependent on experience). On-site parking is available for staff.
Head of Physics - Ealing, West London
* Lead and manage the Physics curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
* Develop and implement schemes of work that are ambitious, engaging and aligned with examination specifications.
* Monitor student progress within Physics, using data effectively to drive improvement and close attainment gaps.
* Support and develop members of the Science department through coaching, mentoring and collaborative planning.
* Promote a culture of high expectations, academic curiosity and a passion for scientific enquiry.
* Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives and support the wider aims and ethos of the school.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A degree in Physics or a closely related subject
* Proven track record of strong outcomes in Physics at GCSE and/or A-Level
* Experience of leading or supporting curriculum development
* Strong organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to high expectations and inclusive practice
