Apprentice Materials Technician Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within theMarine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do?

As aConstruction Materials Technician Apprentice, you'll be part of a team deliveringSizewell C, a landmark nuclear power station that will power millions of homes with clean energy. This apprenticeship is your chance tolearn, grow, and make a real impactwhile gaining hands-on experience in materials science and quality assurance.
In this role, you will:
* Work alongside experts totest construction materialslike concrete, aggregates, and cement, ensuring they meet the high standards required for a nuclear project.
* Help bringmaterials testing into the 21st centuryby using new technologies, such as automated processes and digital reporting systems.
* Support the team in maintaining theUKAS accreditationof the laboratory, which means following strict quality and safety standards.
* Travel to site locations to collect materials and conduct tests, giving you the chance toexperience both laboratory and fieldwork.
* Develop skills innon-destructive testing (NDT)and other advanced techniques, setting you up for a rewarding career in materials science.
* Complete a21-month Level 3 Apprenticeship, with the opportunity to progress to higher qualifications, such as aDegree Apprenticeship in Applied Materials Science.

What are we looking for?
What You'll Bring:
* Apositive attitudeand a willingness to learnno prior experience is needed!

* Strongcommunication skills, with the ability to work well in a team and share your ideas.
* Asafety-conscious mindsetand the ability to follow instructions carefully.
* Afull UK driving license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to site locations (applicants must be18 or over).
* Enthusiasm for working in ahands-on, fast-paced environmentand a desire to grow your skills.
Nice to Have (but not essential):
* An interest inscience, engineering, or construction.
* Previous experience in alaboratory, workshop, or technical role(eg, school projects, part-time jobs, or hobbies).
* Familiarity withquality standards or safety protocols(although we'll teach you everything you need to know!).
