Youth Worker - Classroom Manager (Blackpool Secondary School)
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Youth Worker to join our secondary school in Blackpool. This is an exciting and non-traditional role that combines the skills of a youth worker with the structure of a classroom environment. You will be responsible for managing a class of students, ensuring a positive and productive atmosphere that fosters engagement, confidence, and positive behavior.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise classes, ensuring a structured and supportive learning environment.
* Utilize youth work principles to address behavioral challenges and promote well-being.
* Work with students to build social and emotional skills, and improve their readiness to learn.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress and attendance.
* Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students.
* Contribute to the school's overall ethos of creating a safe and inclusive community.
What We\'re Looking For
* Essential Experience: You must have demonstrable experience as a Youth Worker or in a similar role, specifically with young people aged 11-16.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to command respect.
* A firm but fair approach, with exceptional communication and de-escalation skills.
* Knowledge of positive behavior management strategies.
* A commitment to the social and emotional development of young people.
Start Date: Immediately or by October 2026
