Assignment Details
This full-time, long-term assignment is due to start in March, subject to clearance. The school is seeking a DT specialist with experience in workshop-based teaching to deliver engaging and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, managing workshop activities safely, and marking work to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. The role is Monday to Friday during standard school hours.

As a Successful Qualified Teacher, You Will Need to:
• Hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Be confident teaching DT in a workshop environment
• Have experience leading classes of pupils aged 11–16
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
• Have a sound understanding of health and safety within a workshop setting
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be willing to engage in ongoing professional development
• Work effectively under pressure and adapt quickly
• Be enthusiastic, proactive, and have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• Be able to commute to Burton and surrounding areas
