Private Client Tax Assistant Manager / Manager

We are looking for a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager / Manager to join our team in Darlington. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial clients, delivering expert tax compliance and advisory services. You’ll work with modern technology to enhance efficiency and provide outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review income tax, partnership tax returns, and P11Ds using systems such as CCH, Iris, and Taxshield
2. Support and mentor junior team members, aiding their professional development
3. Research complex tax planning issues and assist in preparing advisory reports
4. Advise on complex personal tax matters including remuneration planning, capital gains, inheritance tax, and trusts
5. Act as a point of contact for client queries and attend client meetings, events, or sites as required
6. Contribute ideas to improve departmental processes and systems
7. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through relevant CPD
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
8. ACA or CTA qualified
9. Experience in personal tax within a practice environment
10. Competent in tax preparation software
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident in client-facing interactions
12. Excellent IT skills, including Excel
13. Attention to detail, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
14. Proven experience delivering exceptional client service
15. Experience in team development and management
16. Knowledge of personal tax planning, residency, inheritance tax, and trust advisory
