Job Title: Call Handler – Contact Centre

Location: Sheffield Teaching Hospital

Hours: 3 days a week between Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm. 28.5hrs per week

Trust Location: Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, Sheffield, S10 2JF

What you'll be responsible for:

· To provide the highest level of customer service to patients, colleagues and external partners at all times. To support and provide cover for colleagues as directed.

· Receive and make telephone calls via the busy contact centre. Divert calls and take

messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt delivery.

Liaise on a daily basis with colleagues and section leads to ensure the full utilisation of available appointments across all sites.

· To cancel and where appropriate rebook appointments at the patient's instruction, balancing patient wishes and STH Policy requirements and seeking advice for your Team Leader as and when required.

· To cancel and rebook clinics where appropriate at the direction of your Team Leader or the wider Management Team.

· To confirm the details of any appointments and associated special requirements with the patient using the available technology (letter, e-mail, telephone etc).

· Deal with telephone enquiries, mail/ email promptly and efficiently.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

· Previous clerical experience

· Previous experience of working within an admin background.

· Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment

· Strong IT skills

· Strong customer service skills
