This part‑time (7 PA) NHS Consultant Dermatologist post offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Applicants must hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and be either on the Specialist Register for Dermatology or due to obtain their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within six months of the interview date. The post requires no on‑call commitments. Interviews will be held on Monday 17th August 2026. Main duties
Provide ward consultations for inpatients as required. Participate in the management structure of the Medical Division. Detailed responsibilities
3 outpatient clinics per week (two general dermatology, one skin cancer alternating with minor surgery). 0.5 session for ward referrals. Attend LSMDT meetings. Allocated sessions for direct patient administration. Time allocated for advice & guidance (0.25). 1 session for continuing professional development “Grand Round” (Broadgreen Hospital). 1.5 sessions for teaching, audit, research, clinical management and other non‑clinical activities. Qualifications
Full GMC registration and Specialist Register membership or within six months of CCT award. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. MRCP or equivalent. MD/PHD or equivalent. Knowledge and experience
Evidence of achieved competencies and good clinical practice. Clinical training to manage, supervise and provide expert opinion in Dermatology. Experience of supervising doctors and practitioners and teaching clinical skills. Demonstrated teaching and audit experience. Evidence of research presentations or publications. Ability to apply outcomes to clinical problems. Other
