Role Overview
We are seeking a Dermatology Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team as a keyworker for patients diagnosed with skin cancer. The CNS will serve as a link between patients and healthcare professionals across primary, secondary and tertiary care and will advocate for patients and families.
Main responsibilities
* Act as a keyworker for patients diagnosed with skin cancer, providing a link between patients and health‑care professionals across primary, secondary and tertiary care and acting as an advocate for patients/families.
* Develop, implement and evaluate the Skin Cancer Service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote seamless service within a multi‑professional framework.
* Be a clinical expert in skin cancer with excellent communication skills, working autonomously and independently but within an integrated collaborative team.
* Ensure users of the service are actively involved in development of the service and that their recommendations are disseminated to the MDT and the Cancer Management Team, ensuring appropriate actions are devised.
* Establish follow‑up nurse‑led clinics for newly diagnosed patients and skin cancer patients undergoing treatment.
* Ensure the role reflects core components of a Clinical Nurse Specialist: clinical practice, management, organisation, education, research and audit, taking into account the national cancer agenda and its impact on service delivery.

Education / Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse.
Skills / Abilities
* Ability to work independently and equally well as a team member.
* Previous experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Experience / Knowledge
* Previous experience in skin cancer nursing.
* Previous experience of running nurse‑led clinics.

Salary
£33,314 to £37,591 per annum inclusive.
