We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administration Assistant to join our busy General Practice team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the clinical and administrative functions of the practice, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to high-quality patient care.

Provide general administrative support to the practice including answering emails, data inputting, managing patient registrations and handling correspondence.

We are a well-established General Practice based in Lichfield, serving a patient population of approximately 13,500 across three sites: Lichfield, Whittington, and Burntwood. Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, pharmacists and practice nurses, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to our community.
Please note travel across the three sites may be required for this role.
Job responsibilities
- Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic and paper records.
- Process patient referrals via the electronic referral system.
- Provide basic IT support to practice staff and raise IT support requests.
- Contribute and take minutes of staff meetings.
- Support the wider admin team during busy periods or staff absence.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and data protection at all times.
Person Specification
Experience
* - Previous experience in a administrative role.
* - Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* - Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
* - Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting.
* Experience of working in a GP Practice or Primary Care
* Familiarity with clinical systems
