We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Private Patient Medical Day Unit (PPMDU) at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea, on a full-time permanent basis. We pride ourselves on the excellent care we deliver at the PPMDU and the integrated model of care with our NHS colleagues, facilitating innovative research, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
Requirements:
1. Be a 1st level registered nurse.
2. Demonstrate previous oncology experience.
3. Experience in the administration of IV medications and chemotherapy is essential.
4. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture are desirable; full training will be provided.
5. Possess excellent communication skills, reliability, enthusiasm, and be an effective team member committed to high-quality patient service.

Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and supervise shifts, communicating effectively with multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
2. Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making regarding patient needs and long-term care plans.
3. Participate in the organization and management of clinical trials, including patient recruitment, education, and monitoring, liaising with trial sponsors as required.
4. Take personal accountability for nursing care in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
5. Promote a safe clinical environment and participate in infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
6. Ensure adherence to hospital policies and collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain standards of care.
The Staff Nurse assists the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in managing the clinical environment and shifts. At Senior Staff Nurse level, responsibilities include managing and developing a team under supervision.
