We have an exciting opportunity for a Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive Phlebotomy Team.
Do you have excellent communication skills, hand-to-eye coordination, flexibility, and patient focus? Basic computer skills are also required.
This is a demanding physical role involving standing, bending, walking, and pushing phlebotomy trolleys during shifts.
Since you will be working both in the community and hospital settings, access to a car or alternative transportation is essential.
Working flexibly over a 7-day rota, shifts will cover early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
* Manage contingencies during blood collection within your limitations and seek assistance when needed.
* Perform routine blood specimen collections with minimal supervision.
* Accurately record patient/donor information during sample collection, ensuring full visibility and concentration.
* Assemble and dispose of equipment appropriately.
* Conduct manual analysis of urine samples prior to specific blood tests (e.g., Glucose/Lactose Tolerance Tests).
* Select suitable sites for blood collection using judgmental skills.
* Use appropriate equipment for specimen collection.
* Obtain blood samples with minimal distress or discomfort to patients/donors.
