Payroll & Finance Officer based in central Norwich.
30 hours per week, flexible.
The role
* Running the monthly payroll with accuracy and calm efficiency.
* Managing starters, leavers, changes, overtime, allowances, and deductions.
* Handling statutory and occupational payments.
* Reconciling payroll, issuing payslips, and resolving staff queries.
* Ensuring payroll meets HMRC, employment law, and GDPR standards.
* Submitting RTI returns and completing year‑end tasks.
* Staying ahead of payroll legislation and best practice.
* Administering multiple pension schemes, including contributions, enrolments, opt‑ins/outs, and member queries.
* Supporting pension reconciliations and scheme compliance.
* Managing staff benefits, healthcare schemes, and salary sacrifice arrangements.
Skills required
* Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll
* Experience managing payroll for 200+ employees
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
* Strong Excel and data handling skills
* Experience supporting audits and producing payroll reports
