Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to Assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am – 14:30pmKey Responsibilities:Deputise for the Manager in their absence. Accept responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day activities.Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO's on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence)Continuously review menusPreparing and cooking of foodAssist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinnerParticipate in on site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Friday's / charity fundraisingAssist stock taking and product rotationServing of food and beveragesCollect monies and operate cash tillCleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floorsReport faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stockPrepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetingsComply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidyComply with food hygiene standards at all timesComply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelinesSkills, knowledge & Qualifications:Keeps up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilitiesPrevious kitchen experiencePrevious experience assisting the running of canteen kitchenGood verbal, written and numerical skillsWell organisedA team playerSelf-motivatedFriendly individual with focus on customer serviceGood PC skillsSocial media activitiesWe offer:FREE breakfast every FridayRefer a Friend SchemePaid breaks28 days holiday entitlement – including bank holidaysHigher pay rate after completing probationFree parkingSubsidised canteenDiscount on retail, cinema, travel and much moreLife assurance policyLong service awardOpportunities to develop and progress in your careerCandidates will need a ‘can do' approach and must be able to handle working in a fast paced environment.Our people.
