Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Chemistry at our Chichester Campus. You will join us on a part time (22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year), permenant basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of pro rata of £26,716 - £41,659 per annum (i.e. £16,029.60 - £24,995.40).

The STEM department are keen to recruit a highly effective and innovative Lecturer who can deliver on a wide range of chemistry programmes including A level and Access at Level 3 as well as GCSE Chemistry at Level 2. We welcome applications for this exciting opportunity from qualified individuals and from candidates who are new to teaching and have relevant and applicable subject or industry experience in chemistry.
As our Lecturer in Chemistry, you will have a passion for teaching as well as an imaginative and creative approach in the classroom, with a focus on student learning. You will be able to deliver engaging and inspiring teaching, learning and assessment using up to date resources and have an ability to adapt teaching styles for the learners on this course.
Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Chemistry:
Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
Our ideal Lecturer in Chemistry should have the below skills and experience:
Degree in relevant Science subject
Working knowledge of Level 2 & 3 Science programmes
Relevant teaching experience
An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
