Job Details
The salary for this role is £87,038 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance). Onsite work is expected for 3 days per week, with flexible working supported. The role is based at Culham, Oxfordshire. Employees must complete an online BPSS check, including DBS and open-source data searches.
Role Overview
As Head of Programme - Fusion Futures Industry Capability, you will lead a multi-year programme to develop UK industrial capability in fusion technologies. You will manage a portfolio of projects, oversee a team of Project Managers, ensure governance, performance, and delivery, and represent UKAEA externally. You will be responsible for reporting to senior stakeholders and ensuring the programme meets its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and manage the programme, ensuring effective frameworks and leadership.
* Report progress and chair the Programme Board.
* Manage day-to-day operations, budget, and risks.
* Develop strategy, oversee project delivery, and ensure quality standards.
* Engage stakeholders and develop international partnerships.
* Promote benefits and impacts of the programme.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience managing large programme portfolios (>£100M)
* Leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
* Commercial awareness and contract management experience
* Ability to handle complex projects and stakeholder engagement
Desirable:
* Knowledge of UK Science and Innovation landscape
* APM PPQ or equivalent qualification
