Position: History Teacher
Location: Southampton (near Bitterne)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Long-term (until July 2026, with potential for permanent appointment)
Pay: £150 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a History Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Southampton area close to Bitterne. This long-term role begins January 2026 and runs through to July 2026, teaching History to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
Lesson plans and resources will be provided, allowing you to focus on creating engaging, inspiring lessons that help students develop a strong understanding of historical events and concepts. Both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply. Overseas-trained teachers with UK curriculum experience will also be considered.

Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Recent experience teaching History in UK secondary schools.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Passionate about History and able to inspire students.
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 preferred.
Collaborative and adaptable approach.
