Job Description

Are you ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while building a rewarding career? At Raven Housing Trust, we’re passionate about creating safe, high-quality homes and delivering an outstanding service to our residents—and we’re looking for two Repairs Surveyors who share that commitment.

Due to the continued growth of our housing portfolio, we’re expanding our Property & Estate Services team and are looking for talented individuals to join us at an exciting time of development. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role that offers real variety, autonomy, and the chance to build specialist expertise in repairs and maintenance within social housing.

This is not a traditional surveying role—it’s about building relationships, taking ownership, and ensuring customers feel supported throughout their repairs journey. You’ll play a key role in shaping customer experience, working across a diverse range of homes, and helping us continuously improve the quality of our service.

This is more than a job—it’s your chance to be part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and customer focus. At Raven, we invest in our people and support professional development, including the opportunity to work towards RICS accreditation.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll be at the centre of delivering a responsive, high-quality repairs service, combining field-based activity with coordination and communication. You will:

  • Work across our housing portfolio, supporting the delivery of reactive and planned repairs
  • Take ownership of a varied caseload, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard
  • Build strong relationships with residents, providing a calm, professional approach and clear communication
  • Use digital and smart systems to capture information and keep work progressing smoothly
  • Coordinate with colleagues, contractors, and partners to deliver the best outcomes
  • Manage your own diary and workload, balancing site activity with follow-up actions

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for people who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes. You’ll be well suited to this role if you:

  • Remain calm and composed when working with customers, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Are confident using IT systems and enjoy working with modern digital tools
  • Are organised and able to manage your own schedule effectively
  • Take a proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and contractors
  • Have an interest in property, maintenance, or surveying and want to develop your career
  • Are motivated to continue learning and progressing professionally, including working towards RICS accreditation with Raven’s support

This role is particularly well suited to individuals with experience in housing, property, maintenance, or other field-based roles who are looking to specialise and grow within the sector.

Why join Raven?

At Raven, we’re more than just a housing association — we’re a community-focused organisation committed to creating positive change. You’ll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking team where your ideas and expertise will genuinely make a difference.

You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better.

What Raven will offer in return

To create a great experience for our customers, we need to create a great experience for one another. What Raven offers goes beyond the ordinary, giving you the opportunity to join a community of people who share the same values and are passionate about making a difference.

Our reward package includes:

  • Competitive salaries
  • Fantastic work/life balance with flexible working and generous leave entitlement
  • Strong focus on learning and development, with opportunities to grow your skills and career
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay
  • Funded health cash plan
  • Extensive wellbeing support
  • Voucher-based recognition scheme
  • Retail discounts

Raven are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications form all candidates, including minority ethnics, the LBGTQ+ community, people with disabilities and long-term health conditions, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
