Financial Control Manager Bromley, Kent £80,000 per annum Permanent, full time We are looking for a dynamic leader to lead our Financial Control team within the wider Financial Operations department. Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, youll manage a team of six and oversee all financial accounting, finance system interfaces and finance operations (expenses, accounts payable, customer payments and corporate treasury) ensuring accuracy, timely delivery against month end and reporting period close timetables whilst championing continuous improvement and implementing target state technology solutions. This is a high-impact role whereyoullsupport the finance leadership team; working closely with the financial reporting, FP&A and actuarial teams whilst also partnering with operational areas of the business overseeing expenses, reconciliations, controls and supporting the delivery of the finance change agenda. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Financial Control team, ensuring effective delivery of all daily activities. Oversee the ledger close processes, journal reviews, reconciliations, and adherence to reporting timetables. Act as subject matter expert for ledger feeds from various source systems (policy admin, payroll, expense management, investments) understanding theend to endflow of transactions and ensuring there are controls and reconciliations in place. Own the financial control pack;providingmanagement insights on balance sheet and income statement reconciliations including ageing analysis, root cause analysis, exceptionreportingand commentary. Ensure robust controls are in place; undertaking regular control testing and reviewing risk registers to ensure that operational risk is effectively managed. Identifyopportunities to streamline, automate, and improve existing processes; role modelling a continuous improvement culture and defining target state processes. Collaborate with Group Reporting, FP&A, and Technical Accounting teams. Manage operational tax submissions including VAT returns and regulatory reporting. Participate in business projects and strategic initiatives. WhatWereLooking For Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven people management experience. Strong background in financial accounting, financial control, and finance operations. Financial services experience highly desirable. Treasury/banking operations experience a plus. Knowledge of IFRS17 desirable. Experience of introducing control enhancements and working withfirst and second linerisk and compliance functions to test the operating effectiveness of controls.
